For your interest, the Fleetwood Food Bank, as well as taking food items, is also very grateful for donations of clothes, bedding, bathroom and kitchen equipment. Anything really (apart from large furniture and electrical items) which would help set up a home, or replace damaged or worn out items.
I used to take my unwanted things to a charity shop, but since finding out about this I now take most things to the Food Bank. Doesn’t have to be new, just clean and in working order.
It’s at St Wulstan’s & St Edmund’s, open Wednesdays 10-2, for people on certain benefits.
If you have anything you think may be suitable, I’d be happy to pick it up and take it there for you.
You may remember last year I toyed with the idea of starting up a Games Club. Since then I have been asking around but didn’t find enough interest to warrant setting one up.
But I am pleased to tell you that there are already two such Clubs, one at Garstang library, Saturdays 10-12, the other at Knott End library 1st Monday of the month 2pm. So possibilities there for those folk who showed interest.
A big thank you to all who brought me games and jigsaws. I will pass these on to the Family Centre in Fleetwood. I’m sure they will be much appreciated.
